जैसा बोओगे वैसा काटोगे — As You Sow, So Shall You Reap

तीन चोर थे। एक रात उन्होंने एक मालदार आदमी के यहाँ चोरी की। चोरों के हाथ खूब माल लगा। उन्होंने सारा धन एक थैले में भरा और उसे लेकर जंगल की ओर भाग निकले।

जंगल में पहुँचने पर उन्हें जोर की भूख लगी। वहाँ खाने को तो कुछ था नहीं, इसलिए उनमें से एक चोर पास के एक गाँव से खाने का कुछ सामान लाने गया। बाकी के दोनों चोर चोरी के माल की रखवाली के लिए जंगल में ही रहे।

जो चोर खाने का सामान लाने गया था, उसकी नीयत खराब थी। पहले उसने होटल में खुद छककर भोजन किया। फिर उसने अपने साथियों के लिए खाने का समान खरीदा और उसमें तेज जहर मिला दिया। उसने सोचा कि जहरीला खाना खाकर उसके दोनों साथी मर जाएँगे तो सारा धन उसी का हो जाएगा।

इधर जंगल में दोनो चोरों ने खाने का समान लाने गए अपने साथी चोर की हत्या कर डालने की योजना बना ली थी। वे उसे अपने रास्ते से हटाकर सारा धन आपस में बाँट लेना चाहते थे।

तीनों चोरों ने अपनी-अपनी योजनाओं के अनुसार कार्य किया। पहला चोर ज्योंही जहरीला भोजन लेकर जंगल में पहुँचा कि उसके साथी दोनों चोर उसपर टूट पड़े। उन्होंने उसका काम तमाम कर दिया। फिर वे निश्चिंत होकर भोजन करने बैठे। मगर जहरीला भोजन खाते ही वे दोनों भी तड़प-तड़प कर मर गए।

इस प्रकार इन बुरे लोगों का अंत भी बुरा ही हुआ।

शिक्षा — बुराई का अंत बुरा ही होता है।

Section 2: Sentence-by-Sentence Translation

7	बाकी के दोनों चोर चोरी के माल की रखवाली के लिए जंगल में ही रहे।	The other two thieves stayed in the forest to guard the stolen goods.

9	पहले उसने होटल में खुद छककर भोजन किया।	First, he ate his fill at a restaurant.
10	फिर उसने अपने साथियों के लिए खाने का समान खरीदा और उसमें तेज जहर मिला दिया।	Then he bought food for his companions and mixed strong poison into it.
11	उसने सोचा कि जहरीला खाना खाकर उसके दोनों साथी मर जाएँगे तो सारा धन उसी का हो जाएगा।	He thought that if both his companions died after eating the poisoned food, all the wealth would be his.
12	इधर जंगल में दोनो चोरों ने खाने का समान लाने गए अपने साथी चोर की हत्या कर डालने की योजना बना ली थी।	Meanwhile, in the forest, the two thieves had made a plan to murder their companion who had gone to bring food.
13	वे उसे अपने रास्ते से हटाकर सारा धन आपस में बाँट लेना चाहते थे।	They wanted to get him out of the way and divide all the wealth between themselves.
14	तीनों चोरों ने अपनी-अपनी योजनाओं के अनुसार कार्य किया।	All three thieves acted according to their respective plans.
15	पहला चोर ज्योंही जहरीला भोजन लेकर जंगल में पहुँचा कि उसके साथी दोनों चोर उसपर टूट पड़े।	As soon as the first thief arrived in the forest with the poisoned food, the other two thieves pounced on him.
16	उन्होंने उसका काम तमाम कर दिया।	They finished him off.
17	फिर वे निश्चिंत होकर भोजन करने बैठे।	Then they sat down to eat without any worry.
18	मगर जहरीला भोजन खाते ही वे दोनों भी तड़प-तड़प कर मर गए।	But as soon as they ate the poisoned food, they both also died writhing in agony.
19	इस प्रकार इन बुरे लोगों का अंत भी बुरा ही हुआ।	In this way, the end of these evil people was also evil.
20	शिक्षा — बुराई का अंत बुरा ही होता है।	Moral — Evil deeds always lead to a bad end.
