बैल और मेढ़क — The Bull and the Frogs

एक बार एक तालाब के किनारे छोटे-छोटे मेढक खेल रहे थे। तभी वहाँ एक बैल पानी पीने के लिए आया। उसने पानी पीकर जोर से डकारा। बैल के डकारने की आवाज सुनकर सभी मेढक भयभीत हो गये। वे सरपट भागते हुए अपनी दादी माँ के पास पहुँचे।

दादी माँ ने अपने पोते से पूछा, "क्यों रे, क्या हुआ? तुम लोग घबराए हुए क्यों हो?"

छोटे मेढक ने कहा, "अरे दादी, अभी एक बहुत बड़ा जानवर तालाब में पानी पीने आया था। उसकी आवाज बहुत ही तेज और भयंकर थी।"

दादी माँ ने पूछा, "कितना बड़ा था वह जानवर?" नन्हे मेढक ने जवाब दिया, "अरे, बहुत ही बड़ा था वह।" दादी माँ ने अपने चारो पैर फैलाकर और गाल फुलाकर कहा, "वह इतना बड़ा था, क्या?"

छोटे मेढक ने कहा, "अरे नहीं दादी, वह इससे भी बहुत बड़ा था।" दादी माँ ने फिर गाल और पेट फुलाकर कहा, "इससे बड़ा तो नहीं होगा। है ना!"

नन्हे मेढक ने जवाब दिया, "नहीं दादी, वह इससे भी बहुत बहुत बड़ा था।" दादी माँ ने अपने शरीर को और फुलाया। इस प्रकार वह अपने शरीर को फुलाती गई। आखिरकार उसका पेट फट गया और वह मर गई।

शिक्षा — खोखला अभिमान विनाश का कारण होता है। (Empty pride leads to destruction.)

2	तभी वहाँ एक बैल पानी पीने के लिए आया।	Just then, a bull came there to drink water.
3	उसने पानी पीकर जोर से डकारा।	After drinking the water, he belched loudly.
4	बैल के डकारने की आवाज सुनकर सभी मेढक भयभीत हो गये।	Hearing the sound of the bull's belch, all the frogs became frightened.
5	वे सरपट भागते हुए अपनी दादी माँ के पास पहुँचे।	They ran swiftly and reached their grandmother.
6	दादी माँ ने अपने पोते से पूछा, "क्यों रे, क्या हुआ? तुम लोग घबराए हुए क्यों हो?"	The grandmother asked her grandchildren, "Hey, what happened? Why are you all so scared?"
7	छोटे मेढक ने कहा, "अरे दादी, अभी एक बहुत बड़ा जानवर तालाब में पानी पीने आया था।"	The little frog said, "Oh Grandma, just now a very big animal came to the pond to drink water."
8	"उसकी आवाज बहुत ही तेज और भयंकर थी।"	"His voice was very loud and terrifying."
9	दादी माँ ने पूछा, "कितना बड़ा था वह जानवर?"	The grandmother asked, "How big was that animal?"

11	दादी माँ ने अपने चारो पैर फैलाकर और गाल फुलाकर कहा, "वह इतना बड़ा था, क्या?"	The grandmother spread her four legs, puffed up her cheeks and said, "Was he this big?"
12	छोटे मेढक ने कहा, "अरे नहीं दादी, वह इससे भी बहुत बड़ा था।"	The little frog said, "Oh no Grandma, he was much bigger than this."
13	दादी माँ ने फिर गाल और पेट फुलाकर कहा, "इससे बड़ा तो नहीं होगा। है ना!"	The grandmother again puffed up her cheeks and stomach and said, "He couldn't be bigger than this. Right?"
14	नन्हे मेढक ने जवाब दिया, "नहीं दादी, वह इससे भी बहुत बहुत बड़ा था।"	The little frog replied, "No Grandma, he was much, much bigger than this."
15	दादी माँ ने अपने शरीर को और फुलाया।	The grandmother puffed up her body even more.
16	इस प्रकार वह अपने शरीर को फुलाती गई।	In this way, she kept inflating her body.
17	आखिरकार उसका पेट फट गया और वह मर गई।	Finally, her stomach burst and she died.
